Create Visual Interest with Lines and Angles
In the realm of interior design, there's a powerful secret to transforming any space: lines and angles. I've discovered that adding these elements can breathe life into even the most ordinary room. At my live/work suite, Fluere, I've harnessed the magic of lines and angles to create a captivating visual experience.
The dining area is a prime example. Black metal counter stools weave a mesmerizing web of lines and different degrees of angles, beautifully contrasting with the chrome silver dining bench's straight lines and ninety-degree angles. Ninety-degree angles rule the roost, broken up by the dining table's wishbone legs, the dining chairs' gentle curves, and a striking brass freeform art sculpture. Above it all, a large brass lighting fixture dangles orb pendants, further breaking up the rigid angles in the space. Over the counter, geometric-shaped pendants hover above the stools, introducing even more angles and intrigue.
In the living room, lines and angles find their way into the poufs and pillows, while accent chairs sport bold black metal lines in their sling frames that playfully contradict the room's softness. More lines are artfully woven into the concrete decorative box that hides our remote controls, a decorative bowl, and a hand-carved media console.
Why the emphasis on lines and angles? They are the secret sauce for creating visual interest in any room. Along with textures, they infuse life into a space, making it dynamic and stimulating. At Fluere, these elements have elevated the decor from mundane to mesmerizing, reminding me daily of the transformative power of lines and angles in design. So, whether you're revamping your own space or just want to appreciate the beauty around you, keep an eye out for the lines and angles that can turn the ordinary into the extraordinary.
